Availability Monitor (ping)
Availability is one of more than a dozen tests performed by Catbird to:
- Detect network infrastructure problems before your customers or employees do,
- Measure and track compliance against SLA,
- Detect poorly performing devices before they crash,
- Monitor devices both inside and outside the firewall,
- Provide real-time alerts and reports, based on historical trend analysis.
Catbird’s Availability (Ping) Monitors is the only service that can be used to monitor both inside and outside the firewall. Catbird can monitor the health of every switch and router inside and outside your network. By knowing how these devices normally perform and by comparing their performance every two minutes against a baseline, you can be notified of any abnormalities in performance before disaster strikes.
All network incidences, outside or inside your firewall, are a combination of “How long did it take you to find out you had a problem” and “How long did it take you to rectify the problem.” By monitoring the health of the network every two minutes Catbird customers close the gap on detection. The detailed performance information provided by Catbird’s continuous monitoring allows customers to improve remediation.
