Websites protected by the Catbird Pharming Shield are continuously monitored for pharming attacks, 24x7, 365 days a year. Catbird’s web of geographically-distributed sensors is continuously monitoring the various components that are signifiers of the integrity of a website. Catbird Networks unique vantage point on the internet allows us to monitor and test the accuracy of the routing records for your internet presence every two minutes.

Catbird’s protection includes automatic and proactive validation that the web site has not been defaced or experienced unauthorized code changes; the site’s DNS records throughout the Internet are correct and up-to-date; SSL certificates have not expired and match those of the website being checked; and BGP routers have not been tampered with. This check-and-balance aggregation of data provides a complete picture of a website’s health and allows IT administrators to instantly pinpoint the source of any pharming problem.

The Catbird Shield branding program is a first. Websites protected by the Catbird Pharming Shield are continuously monitored for pharming attacks, 24x7, 365 days a year. Clicking an onscreen “shield” icon will indicate when the most recent check was conducted and what the results were. Websites with a clean bill of health will be a sign to customers that the site is safe and open for business.
